Critical Aspects of Electric Motor Drive Controllers and Mitigation of Torque Ripple—Review

Electric vehicles (EVs) are playing a vital role in sustainable transportation. It is estimated that by 2030, Battery EVs will become mainstream for passenger car Even though gaining interest transportation, the future of EV power transmission facing concerns and open research challenges. Considering case torque ripple mitigation improved reliability control techniques motors, many motor drive algorithms fail to provide efficient control. To efficiently address this issue, such as Field Orientation Control (FOC), Direct Torque (DTC), Model Predictive (MPC), Sliding Mode (SMC), Intelligent (IC) used algorithms. This literature survey exclusively compares various advanced conventionally motors Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM), Brushless Current (BLDC), Switched Reluctance (SRM), Induction Motors (IM). Furthermore, paper discusses EV-motors history, types EV-motors, EV-motor drives powertrain mathematical modelling, design procedure EV-motors. The hardware results have also been compared with different BLDC SRM hub motors. Future direction towards critical selection their minimize other opportunities enhance performance presented.
